Hyperosmolar therapy

 

• Useful to ↓ ICP

• Insufficient evidence to support specific recommendations re type of agent (ex mannitol, hypertonic saline) and means of administration

  • Hypertonic saline may be more effective than mannitol to ↓ ICP but no difference in short-term mortality
