Goal of ERAS is to improve quality of perioperative care – attenuate loss of functional capacity & accelerate recovery process (attenuate surgical stress, maintain postop physiologic functions)
Outcomes: ↓ postop morbidity, ↓ LOS in hospital, ↓ costs
